Report Cards

Trimester 1 report cards were scheduled to go home on Friday, December 21. We are troubleshooting a communication issue between what is recorded in PowerSchool and what is being printed on the report cards. Administrative Assistant, Meghan Robb, French teacher, Linda Miller and I continue to work with our PowerSchool representative to fix these issues. An email was sent the morning of Friday, December 21 to alert parents that report cards would not be sent home that afternoon.

The parent portal for Trimester 1 remains open to view academic achievement grades, learning practices, and teacher comments. Thank you for your continued patience and understanding as we correct these issues. I will keep you updated this week with our progress.

The December Board of Education meeting was held on Wednesday, December 5. Jenn Duncan was officially welcomed as the new member of the board.

Melissa Cherniske recognized Charlotte Lindsay and Andy Ocif for their time and effort in organizing the Veterans Day program at KCS. Also recognized were Mary VanValkenburg and Bonnie Donzella of the KVFD. Mary and Bonnie led 11 teachers through the CPR certification process, and four teachers through the recertification process.

Martin Lindenmayer reported on his meeting with the board of finance in November to request guidance on funding for a remodel and expansion of the front entrance and office at KCS. A grant has been filed with the state, and updates will be given as the process continues.

The board voted unanimously to move the start time of future meetings to 5:00. The next meeting will be held on Wednesday, January 9, 2019, at 5:00 in the KCS library.
