From the Desk of Mrs. Del Prete
Hello Bridgeview Families,
As the second half of the school year really gets rolling, here are a few things you can do to help your child be successful:
- Continue following routines for before school, during school, and after school.
- Prepare for the morning the night before: Make sure their chromebook is charged and ready to go!
- Help your child get organized, make sure backpacks are uncluttered.
- Provide a quiet place for e-learning, if and when those days present themselves.
- Encourage curiosity – talk about current events.
- Allow for creative free time – every child needs to unwind especially after the days when they are remote learning and are on their devices.
- Demonstrate a positive attitude about education to your children. This is a difficult time for everyone, and being positive about school life can make a huge difference!
- Monitor your child’s television, video game, and Internet use. As a society our use of devices has increased, given the times. We all need a break from utilizing technology.
- Encourage active learning, responsibility, and independence!
The more these practices are created and expected at home, the more our students will be intrinsically motivated when they are at/return to school!
Warmest regards,
Candice
Hello Bobcat Families!
We have added a new option for attendance reporting. While guardians will still be able to call in, we are also offering an attendance form for families to submit attendance digitally. If your student will be absent, please use this Attendance Reporting Form or call us at 708-496-8713 to report the absence.
Thank you!

5Essentials Parent Survey - NOW OPEN!
Dear Parents,
Currently, students, their parents, and teachers across Illinois will have an opportunity to participate in the eighth annual statewide Illinois 5Essentials Survey. This survey is designed to generate a detailed picture of the inner workings of your child’s school. As a parent, this opportunity will allow you to share your thoughts on the important elements of school effectiveness in a survey about your child’s school.
Your participation in the parent portion of the survey will help us understand the conditions at our school and guide improvement. Your identity and survey responses will be kept completely confidential and will never be connected to you or your child.
The deadline to take this survey is March 29, 2024. To take the survey please visit http://survey.5-essentials.org/illinois/survey/parent/ and select "Parent Survey" to begin. The survey will take you about 5 minutes to complete.
Thank you for your support to our school!
Arrival & Dismissal Procedures
Student safety is our number one priority, especially during arrival and dismissal each day. It is imperative that our families follow the outlined plan so that our staff can be sure that all students get into the building safely in the morning, and get to their arranged transportation at dismissal time. Does Your Child Have a Cell Phone at School?
Does your child have a cell phone with them when they are at school? If so, we need you to fill out our online Cell Phone Permission Form. By clicking here and filling out the form, you are giving your permission for your child to have their phone at school. You are also acknowledging our Cell Phone rules/policies.
Is Your Child Celebrating a Birthday?
REMINDER: No edible birthday or holiday treats will be allowed.
If your child has a birthday during the school year and you would like to recognize the special day, please think about sending non-edible items such as pencils, stickers, erasers, etc.
For Our Bus Riders
Don't Be Late!
8:10AM 1st Bell
8:15AM Tardy Bell
2:30PM School Dismissed
All students arriving late to school (after 8:15AM) must report to the office for a tardy slip. Continuous tardiness may constitute other disciplinary consequences. Our goal is for all students to arrive at school on time each day. When students are late, they miss instructional opportunities. Please keep in mind that students arriving after 9:15AM are no longer considered tardy, but will instead receive a half day absence.
Being late is detrimental to all students' learning, especially if it occurs on a consistent basis. Be sure to do all you can to prevent tardiness. Your child will thank you for it!
