Helping Your Students Learn to Type!
One of the best free typing programs out there is Dance Mat Typing. This site gives the student reasons why they need to learn touch typing. This is something great to go over as a class. One way to incorporate touch typing into your curriculum is to assign different lessons for homework. You can also give them an assignment to complete when they finish their classwork. Another great idea is to do Touch Typing when students first come into your class in the morning.
Several other sites that you can use are: TypeRacer, Ratatype and for our younger students Keyboard Climber. I hope you begin integrating Touch Typing into your lessons, as this skill is invaluable in the real world!
