Robertson Elementary May, 2021

Hello Robertson Families!

Thank you so much for your continued support and partnership this year! To continue to provide support to your children on their at home days, teachers have been providing instructional support through additional Google Meets. All students have Google Meets on their at home days so if you have any questions about what time those meetings are occurring, please contact your child's teacher for more information as these Meets provide important learning opportunities for your child. We know that COVID has impacted our students' learning and we want to make the most out of the time we have with students to help them continue learning.

Attendance Matters:

Student attendance at school on in-person days and in Google Meets on remote days matters. During the month of May, all students who attend all of their in-person days and Google Meets each week will be entered into a class drawing for a chance to win a free pizza! We want to recognize and celebrate students who regularly attend their in-person days and their Google Meets as well as recognize the support their families provide to help them be present. We know it has been challenging this year to adjust to remote learning and all of the schedule changes. We want to say thank you for finding ways to make sure your children attend all of their learning opportunities.

Robertson Rockets are Wild Readers:

We are also excited to begin working on a school wide goal for reading! Every student at Robertson has a Wildly Important Goal or WIG. Each student has set a WIG reading goal and all classrooms are tracking student progress towards their goals. As a whole school, we will celebrate our growth and progress in meeting these goals which are focused on helping all Robertson students develop a love for reading.

We are also encouraging all students to "read on the edge." This means that students keep a book close to them and any time there are even a few minutes to read they open their books. When students on campus are caught "reading on the edge" they receive a ticket which is then used in a weekly classroom drawing for prizes! You can help your child by encouraging them to read, reading to your child or with your child, and helping them find opportunities to "read on the edge!"

Picture Day in May:

Picture days have been scheduled for each of our in-person cohorts. See below for the schedule. *Picture packets will be sent home*

Cohort A: Monday, May 17th

Cohort B: Thursday, May 20th

We may only have a few weeks left of school, but we will make the most of them! Thanks so much for all you do to support your child. We appreciate you!
