Sponsoring and YOUR Business
Think of your business like McDonald's. Ok, maybe not so healthy, but you get my meaning. Anyways, if there was only ONE McDonald's they could not possibly serve all of the people who want a Big Mac, right? So, what did they do? They franchised so that there are now McDonald's all over the place. And they all pay UP to McDonald's Corporate (you!).
If you want to truly build your Beautycounter business, you cannot do all of the heavy lifting on your own. You need to have a productive team.
SPONSORING AND THE BEAUTYCOUNTER MISSION
Again, it is all about numbers. If only one of us is spreading the word, it is not going to go very far. But think about that old Clairol commercial - "and she told two friends, and so on, and so on..." Remember our mission is to get safe products into the hands of everyone, so the more people talking about our mission, the more people we will reach. Kind of common sense, right?
How to Sponsor
- Make a List! - This was one of Shari's top tips on our call. She makes a new list every month and adds to it and makes notes on those she has already contacted.
- Talk About Your Business - Be excited when you talk about your Beautycounter business. It is contagious! People want to associate with positive people.
- Offer the Opportunity FIRST - It is so much easier to go downhill than work your way up. If she is not interested in the business, ask her to host a girl's night, or to try our product.
- NEVER Assume - You really don't know who is going to be interested in the opportunity. Just because she may have a successful career, husband who has a great job, whatever....This could be something she needs for her own personal or financial reasons.
- Know Who Your Audience Is - Don't have a canned message. Tailor your points to what is important to the person you are talking to.
- Your Clients and Hostesses Are Your BEST Prospects - If you have a customer who repeatedly purchases from you, you know she already loves the product. Let her know that because of that, you think she would be awesome in the business.
- Be Selective - I know this is a numbers game, but for me, I like to think of who I would like to work with. I have a "dream team" list of people that I think would be amazing business partners.
- Follow Up, But Don't Be Pushy - Remember, you don't know what is going on in her life at any one time. A no today, can be a yes tomorrow.
- INVITE Them Into the Business - I loved this tip from Shari. It's all in how you talk about it. Think about your language and make it appealing!!
