2023 Scholastic Art and Writing Awards
Congratulations to our fifteen incredibly talented students who were recognized for their art and writing in the 2023 Scholastic Art and Writing Competition. These students will be celebrated at the Cleveland Institute of Art's Reinberger Gallery in January. Award-winning students, parents and educators are invited to view the work and celebrate our students' accomplishments. Gold Key recipients advance to the national competition.

Semester Exams
January 10, 11 & 12, 2023
Semester exams will take place on January 10th, 11th, and 12th. The school will not be an open campus during exam week. Students are expected to be at school from 7:45 a.m. to 12:35 p.m. on Tuesday and Wednesday and 7:45 a.m. to 10:55 a.m. on Thursday. Students do not have school on Friday, January 13th (Teacher Work Day).
Students must be present in their regularly scheduled classes or study halls during each block. Attendance will be taken each block and will be recorded in Infinite Campus. Students are to attend all of their scheduled classes each day.
On the first two days of exams, grab-and-go lunch will be served at 12:35 p.m. On the third day, lunch will be served at 10:55 a.m. The afternoon buses will leave the high school at 12:55 p.m. on Tuesday and Wednesday and 11:15 a.m. on Thursday. Students who do not have an exam and need to utilize the afternoon busses will report to the cafeteria for a study hall.
Students may leave campus if they have Release Time on their schedule.
Students may also leave if their last block of the day is study hall or learning center provided they have transportation.

College Credit Plus
On January 24th, at 6:30 pm, we will be holding College Credit Plus (CCP) night in the Mayfield High School cafeteria for those interested in the CCP process. Attendance for this night is highly recommended for students wanting to participate in CCP. Important information has been sent to you via email regarding timelines. Please follow these steps to get started. If you already participate in the CCP program, you do not need to reapply or attend the information night.
CCP night will consist of a brief presentation detailing all that CCP encompasses and a question-and-answer open forum with a panel of CCP coordinators from colleges in the area (Lakeland, Tri-C, Notre Dame College, Kent State, and Cleveland State). Please join us then to learn all about what CCP has to offer! Please contact Ms. Hannah Grazia (hgrazia@mayfieldschools.org) if you have any questions or concerns.
Local Scholarships
Local Scholarships will become available for ALL seniors on January 11th. Be sure to check out the website at the link below:

We encourage ALL seniors to check out these scholarships and apply to as many as possible.
Follow all directions.
·Some scholarships need to be submitted in hard copy to Mrs. Valentino in the Athletic office, and others are sent via email-- this is clearly stated.
- The due date for the local scholarships will be announced after the new year.
- Use the Local Scholarship application available to you and if you need to submit the scholarship in hard copy (to Mrs. Valentino), simply populate the doc, save to your desktop, and print. If you need to submit it electronically, email an attachment to the email provided.
- Some scholarships use their own application, this is clearly stated.
- You MUST include a copy of your mid-year transcript for all applications
. Some donors also want an attendance summary, and if they require this, we will send it separately. Y our mid-year will not be ready until mid-January. Mrs. Bobinski will reach out to you when this is ready.
- Finally, be sure to check the scholarship link often. We continue to receive scholarships and when we do, we will update the post.

Graduation Ceremony
Are you interested in performing a classical music selection or performing as a vocalist at this year's graduation ceremony? If so, please be sure to share your interest by clicking on the appropriate link below.
All form submissions must be completed by 3:00 PM on Friday, January 20th. Based on the level of interest, auditions may be necessary.
PTSO Announcement
Parents: our third PTSO meeting is Tuesday, January 10th at 6:30 PM in the 11-12 Grade Option Space. We will hear an update from the principal, discuss the 16th birthday treats, and plan our upcoming fundraiser. Please join us!

Chromebook Repair Process
Step by Step
Step 1: Student fills out the Student Repair Form. The student will fill out this form indicating what repair is needed, their address, email address, school, grade level, and serial number of their device. The form can be found at the top of our website under Students->Chromebook Repair Form
Step 2: Within 24-48 hours, student will receive a shipping label and box from AGI Repair. All devices will be shipped (free 1-day shipping via FedEx)
Step 3: Student will place their damaged chromebook in the provided box and apply label to the box.
Step 4: Student/parent takes the provided shipping box to their local Fed Ex location or Fed Ex drop box. Please visit the local FedEx store, 6272 Mayfield Rd, Mayfield Heights, OH 44124, for shipping assistance/questions.
Step 5: AGI Repair will repair and ship the device back to the student's home. (approximately 4-7 days)
Step 6: MFCSD will cover the student's first repair. Fees will be automatically added for any additional repair (beyond the initial district covered repair) and issued for parent/guardian payment through Infinite Campus Parent Portal.
