Sky Hawk News from the Nest!
February 1-February 5
Sky Hawk Families:
Greetings from the Nest!
We will have one more week of an all virtual environment. Hopefully, this will give everyone some time to quarantine and get healthy before returning to campus on February 8th. Below are some PVMS expectations that might help your student be successful:
- All students will be asked to turn on their cameras while we are in the virtual environment. Teachers only see initials (no faces), so we need to make sure the students are participating in class and are present just as they would be if they were at school. There is a blur feature for backgrounds as well as a virtual background feature if students want to hide their home environment. It is a school-wide expectation for students to have their cameras on so that teachers aren't talking to themselves. It is very difficult for teachers to engage with students who are not responding.
- Students should have on appropriate attire while in their teams meetings.
All students must log on to the teams meetings each class period or they will be marked absent.
Even though we are all virtual right now, we still need you all to notify the school 447-8500 or email our Nurse kami.grisham@lrsd.org if your child has been placed on quarantine or isolation.
- If you are using a school issued device and need insurance, you can purchase here
- Last week, our school counselors visited with the 7th grade and some of the 6th grade students (virtually) about course selections for next year ask your student about their thoughts on class selections! The list of course offerings can be found here.
