Our Thanks this week goes to Nigel Knight for removing the big tree at the front of the school. Unfortunately the tree was not in good health and the type of tree it was, was not very suitable for it's position. We are fortunate to have such a supportive community who donate their time and skills to the school.

Garage Sale
Students in Term 2 identified that they would like to start fundraising to build an orchard house (playhouse). As part of thier learning they came up with many ways they could raise funds. The first one they would like to have is a Garage Sale. We have penciled in Saturday 20th August to have the sale on.
Students are able to start bringing things in for this sale next week - please bear in mind if you are donating bigger items we do not have much storage so would appreciate these items delivered on the day or day before.
Op Shop
The new premises for the Op shop has opened.
It would be great to have a few more on our roster. If you, a grandparent or family friend is able to give 3 hours of their time once a month or once every two months it would be greatly appreciated.
Please let the office know if you can be added to our roster.

Catholic Social Teaching- Participation
The Catholic social teaching principle of Participation is recognising that everyone has a part to play in our communities. Promoting participation - nāu te rourou, nāku te rourou - means recognising we each have something unique and important to contribute to society. We are called on to be active members of our local and global communities.
How can we practise Participation
Individuals: Reflect on what your gifts are and how you can put them to good use and participate in local activities.
Families: Reflect on how you can enable the participation of all members in your family.
Pope Francis' Prayer Intention for July
Elderly
We pray for the elderly, who represent the roots and memory of a people; may their experience and wisdom help young people to look towards the future with hope and responsibility.
