Sunday Message
September 29-October 4
Principal's Message
As you know, Pleasant Union is a Global School. Each month we focus on a Sustainable Development Goal (SDG). This month, we will study Life on Land. Life on Land is all about conservation of animals and their habitats. Pennies for Our Panther is a way for our school to raise money in order to "adopt" an endangered animal. Students will turn in pennies (only pennies) to their teachers during the designated collection period. At the end of the collection period whichever class has the collected the most pennies will get to name the endangered animal! In the adoption kit there is a plush stuffed animal, a photograph, and an adoption certificate. A flyer with collection dates and additional information will be going home in Tuesday folders very soon.
Visitors to PUE
Thank you to all parents, visitors, and volunteers for joining us on campus. Please remember that upon arrival to campus you must report to the front office to use our sign in system called Lobby Guard. You have to use your driver’s license to sign in through Lobby Guard so ensure you and any guests have that available to sign in with. Additionally, you will be asked the reason for your visit. Parents may join us for lunch any day! If you would like to visit your child's classroom or observe, please set this up with the teacher in advance. The safety of our campus is our top priority. It is important that we know exactly who is on campus each day.
Boosterthon
Parents and families—this year’s main fundraiser is the Pleasant Union Panther Fun Run! It’s a two-week program that kicks off with a pep rally on 10/10 (T1,2,3) & 10/22 (T4). Families will then gather pledges for every lap your student runs (30-35 laps) at the Pleasant Union Panther Fun Run, which will happen on 10/17 (T3) & 10/28 (T1,2,4). This year our goal is to raise $30,000 for Technology, Cultural Arts Programs, Instructional Supplies, Family & Staff Events, and Scholarship Funds, and we need your help! We’ve asked the experts at booster to power our fundraiser to make it easier, more profitable, and more fun.
Students will also experience an amazing character theme, Mindspark: Wild West! Booster’s most exciting theme yet combines S.T.E.A.M. skills (science, technology, engineering, arts, and math) with character-building. While they're teaming up with the Mindspark kids to save Dr. Shock, our students will learn five character traits that will help strengthen themselves and our world.
Donations will go toward Technology, Cultural Arts Programs, Instructional Supplies, Family & Staff Events, and Scholarship Funds and the entire two-week experience. So please help our school by getting pledges from family and friends and entering them on funrun.com. Also, all families are invited to come out and cheer on our students at the Pleasant Union Panther Fun Run. Thanks so much for your support!
Thank you to all who attended the Family Fun Event at TreeRunner. I also want to thank everyone that came out this morning to help with landscaping. Our campus looks wonderful thanks to your efforts!

Track Shirts
The Track shirts are in!! We will start delivering the Track 1 - 3 shirts this week. Track 4 will get their shirts after they track back in. We will send a message, via Memberhub, when we receive the grade 4 & 5 shirts so you know to look out for the shirts in your child's backpack. These shirts will be delivered to your child prior to their first field trip. The PTA will order extra shirts and will announce when the shirts are available in the school store (while supplies last).
Thank you Track 3 Families for hosting a delicious Moe's lunch for the teachers on Friday. They loved it. Also, thank you to all of the families that came and climbed with us at TreeRunner on Friday night. We love TreeRunner and we hope you were able to meet a family you did not know before!
Thank you PUE Families for all of your support and HAVE A BEAUTIFUL WEEK!!
