Glen Lake News to Staff
April 22 - 26, 2019

Check out this video about a boy who had a teacher be his champion. Yes, all the individuals are white and yes, the teacher used the worst behavior management strategy ever by saying "go to the principal's office", but it shows how the relationships we have with our students can have an impact. Notice I say CAN, because we can't just expect that our interactions and presence will cause this impact. Committing to finding the best in every child, and truly believing in them, is a critical challenge to accept!

Out of the Building
I will be out of the building the following times this week:
Wednesday, April 24th - 12:00-4:00 - Leadership, Learning, and Staffing
Thursday, April 25th, 2:15-4:00 - Security Committee Meeting
Staff Meeting
A Staff Meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, April 24 at 8:00 am. Our 6th grade team will lead our learning with activities, games, and greetings for Morning Meeting
As I stated in the staff meeting, I am inviting 2 teams to lab the Glen Lake Go (Field Trip School) idea for next year. You would have some time this year to plan these experiences so they align with content and standards (1 day sub). Please let me know if your team is interested.
Glen Lake Carnival
The forecast says 63 degrees and partly cloudy for this Friday, perfect to have a carnival. This a fantastic Glen Lake tradition that depends on parent and teacher volunteers. Thanks to all who have signed up for volunteering slots. If you haven't done so and are available Friday evening, please consider joining the fun!
Reminder...Order Request
The deadline for orders for the 2018/2019 budget year is the first week of May. Please have any requests turned in to Connie by Friday, May 3. Also, if you have receipts for items you have purchased, please turn them in as soon as possible. Thank you.
