Mrs. Reiber's Apple Newsletter

Important Reminders
- If you would like to order Scholastic books, I will still accept orders. However, I don't know if they'll arrive before the school year ends. You can always come pick up your books at the school office during June if they come in late.
- In May, students can look forward to the 4th grade music program (May 17 during the day), a carnival with our 5th grade buddies (May 19), and school-wide movie day/last day of school party (May 25 from 1:00-2:30 pm *time was extended, please note*).
- If you would like to help out with our class party, please let me know and/or contact Bobbie Adams, room parent.
- Thank you to those who have returned the math fact test score papers.
- I am sending home students' Spring MAP scores on Thursday. Please cut the bottom part and sign it. You may keep the scores. These reading scores can count in place of the Third Grade Guarantee if your child does not end up getting a high enough AIR test score. Contact me if you have questions. Thanks!
- I have had such an amazing year with your children! Thank you for loaning them to me each day, they have learned so much. I really enjoyed my first year of teaching third grade in Tallmadge!
Thanks,
Mrs. Reiber
IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT
It is that time of year when I am asked to make my suggestions for the placement of our current third grade students for their fourth grade classes. If there is any student (in my class or in the entire third grade) that you would prefer to NOT be put in the same class as your child, please let me know. There are no guarantees but I will do my best when we place students. Thank you!
Special Awards
Congratulations to Riley and Sonny for finishing all of the addition, subtraction, and multiplication fact sprints at our Fact Sprint math station this year!
Happy Birthday!
Happy birthday to Teddy this week! Also, Kimberly has a birthday later in May after school is out. Happy birthday to all of our summer birthdays, too!
What we are learning in Room 12...
This is the area of the weekly newsletter where parents/guardians can be informed of what is planned for our week. If your child is going to be absent, please let me know in advance if possible, so I can send make-up work with them.
- Math - We are playing math games and working on math related crafts!
- Reading - We are incorporating reading and social studies for the remainder of the year. I will also level each student for their reading level and pace; information will be included on their report card.
- Writing - In writing class, we are working on reviewing adjectives, nouns, verbs, and adverbs.
- Social Studies - We finished our economics unit. Social studies test scores will come home soon. We will work on our final social studies unit which is a mapping unit.
