The Green Corner: Recycle Your Holiday Lights
If you needed to replace your holiday lights this year (with LED ones, right?) or have some broken old strands hanging around, there are two easy ways to recycle used holiday lights in Wheaton this year. You can drop them in a collection box just inside the Wheaton Public Works Storage Yard (820 W. Liberty Drive) weekdays between 8am and 4 pm OR you can deposit them in a collection box at the Wheaton Park District Community Center (1777 S. Blanchard). Both locations accept incandescent or LED strands, as well as extension cords, and the Park District will even use its scrap material proceeds to benefit their Leisureship Fund, which provides financial assistance to qualified residents for park district programs.
View examples of Lowell Connections from within & beyond our school community! Lowell students & teachers shared this at the December Board of Education meeting.

Please be sure your child dresses for the weather as temperatures drop, as we are outdoors for recess if the wind chill is above 0. Be sure to label cold weather gear with your child's name.
