Make, Float, Move
A free project programme for schools
Booked out but there's be more to come. Let us know if you're interested
Based on the success of last year's Mission Astronautica challenge, Questacon- The National Science & Technology Centre is trialling a new project programme aimed at encouraging secondary school students to think creatively, solve problems and innovate, using household items.
What is made of recycled materials, moves other objects and floats on water?
We're challenging students to build the solution in the upcoming Make, Float, Move challenge project.
It's not just a project...
Starting 15 May (TBC), participating schools attend a series of virtual workshops and events (via video conference) hosted by experienced Questacon presenters. Workshops are designed to encourage innovation, provide hints for success and build confidence in presenting ideas to others. Students will meet the other participants at the launch event, collaborate via the online forum and present the story of their innovations at the project finale in June.
Teacher resources are provided for all virtual workshops. Resources include detailed session outlines, concept explanations and related activities and information.
...and it's FREE!
Make Float Move is a free programme, all you need are some basic materials (e.g. straws, paper, tape).
Register your interest by sending an email to Questacon Digital Outreach. Places are limited.
