Carpool Lane - Arrival and Dismissal Reminders
Below are the most important things to remember:
1. In order to minimize the back-up onto Silver Spring Drive, please make sure that you are pulling your car as far forward around the carpool lane as possible.
2. The driver must stay in the car and your student will exit the car on the passenger side only.
3. If your student has trouble getting out of the car on his/her own, please roll down your window and ask the adult in the carpool lane for help, or park in one of the parking spaces to assist your child and walk him/her to the door.
4. There is NO PARKING in the grass or along the grass.
For a more detailed list and map, please see the attachments below.

Box Tops
The Box Tops for Education program is changing the way we can earn cash for our school! Over the summer, participating brands have begun to change their packaging from the traditional Box Tops clip to the new Box Tops label.
Going forward, instead of clipping from packages and checking expiration dates, all Box Tops will be earned digitally by scanning your receipt. The Box Tops for Education team has worked hard to build a NEW-and-improved, user-friendly Box Tops mobile app, available now.
• Use the app to snap a photo of your receipt within 14 days of purchase.
• The app scans your store receipt, finds Box Tops products and instantly adds cash to our school earnings online.
How Can You Help?
DOWNLOAD the NEW Box Tops app and select Silver Springs Elementary. This ensures that your Box Tops purchases count toward our school's earnings.
SHOP for Box Tops products and scan your receipt in the app to instantly add cash to our school’s earnings online.
LOOK for any remaining Box Tops clips on packages. Clip them and send them to school!
TIP: You can "double-dip" on these products by clipping the traditional Box Tops AND scanning your store receipt with the app.
Our next Box Top Drive will begin in October!

PTA Reflections Chair Needed for Art Contest
The National PTA Reflections is an arts recognition and achievement program for students. This program provides opportunities for students to express themselves creatively and to receive recognition for their original work of arts in 6 categories with a specific theme each year. The 2019-2020 theme is Look Within. If you are interested in coordinating this rewarding program, please contact Kristin Gifford or Leslie Cardenas for more information. Have a friend help you too! Our Northville schools with PTAs participate and the top winners’ artwork is displayed at the Northville Art House in May. The top winners in each category are advanced to the state level. Please consider continuing this enriching program that supports the arts and student’s creativity.

Yearbook Committee Plea
The Silver Springs Yearbook Committee is looking for creative volunteers to help make the yearbook a success for the kids today and a treasure for years to come. If you enjoy taking pictures or working on your home computer designing online scrapbooks, please consider joining this fun committee. Parents enrich the school community through their participation and generosity. This is a great way to get in those volunteer hours on your time as the bulk of the work is done from home.
If you are interested in volunteering on the yearbook committee, please email micklashmelissa@gmail.com to learn more!
Would you like to see more photos of your child in the yearbook? We need your help getting photos of as many students as possible! Please send any fun photos of 2019-2020 school year Silver Spring activities (this includes back to school photos, Halloween and other holiday class parties, assemblies, etc) to micklashmelissa@gmail.com.
Yearbook Committee Chairs,
Kristin Gifford and Melissa Micklash

Heritage Festival Lending Closet at Silver Springs
Wow! Silver Springs third graders looked amazing for their Heritage Festival field trip!
We know this field trip happens early in the year and we have a small lending closet of Victorian wear. We would like to expand our lending closet. If your student has a Victorian outfit that will not be used again or passed on to friends or family, we would love to add it to our lending closet.
If you would like to donate it to our Silver Springs lending closet, please bring it to the main office.
Thank you!!
