Write-Film-Edit Create at The Shire

Webisodes, podcasts, writing clubs, editing & haunted tours!

Create your own collaborative web series!

Work with other students to write the script, act out the role and produce at least one webisode of the new video podcast series Shush! This opportunity will provide an exciting experience working on a filming set and taking a creative project from start to finish.

HUSH Jr: Develop a sci-fi podcast

Having completed season 1 of its sci-fi series #HUSHpodcast, the HUSH team has expanded to form a junior level especially for middle school students. Do you like to write? Act out a character? Compose music? Play instruments? Draw? Sing? Create sound effects? Be a part of dreaming up a new universe of characters and story connected to, but independent of, the Edellen portal.

HUSH - by invite only, but find out how to become involved!

#HUSHpodcast, otherwise known as HUSH, is a sci-fi series written, performed and produced by students in grades eight through twelve. It takes an eclectic team of creatives to produce the show which is first broadcast on the radio program Voices in the Valley before being uploaded onto iTunes, Google Play Music and Stitcher. (The podcast has been downloaded over 7000 times since its release in 2017!)

Our goal with HUSH is to provide as professional an experience as possible to students. In addition to developing writing skills, students learn about industry standards and how to work on a creative team. Joining HUSH is by application and audition only. Many students find HUSH Jr - a podcast spin off of HUSH - a good first step. In HUSH Jr, students learn the key elements of writing an audio script, develop dialogue writing skills, and explore all the components of creating a podcast.
