President's Message

Greetings Brethren,

I hope that this newsletter finds you all doing well and staying safe.

I would like to start by reminding you about the Committee on Work Forum and Exam scheduled for Saturday, October 3, 2020, at Morton Lodge No. 72. R:.W:. Kenneth Young will conduct the event. All Master Masons are encouraged to attend, even if you do not plan on sitting for a certificate exam. It will be a wonderful learning opportunity. The event is scheduled to begin at 9:00 AM. There will not be any meals served, so grab breakfast before arriving and bring something to eat in the short break between the forum and the exam.

Our next quarterly business meeting is scheduled to be held on Tuesday 27 October 2020. The location has been changed to Rosenberg Lodge No. 881 to allow for better social distancing so that more Brethren can participate. One of the items on the agenda for that meeting will be the election of MWSA officers for 2021.

We will also hold the 2020 Briscoe Workshop. This educational workshop is incredibly helpful for all Master Masons, especially those who wish to assume leadership positions within their Lodges. This program is being put on by our District Service Team. R:.W:. Borst and Past Master Cockroft are working hard to coordinate and put on an informative and worthwhile workshop.

Per the Grand Master’s Proclamation from 21 September 2020, we may now confer degrees and hold called meetings. As your Lodge starts holding these meetings again, please let us know about your upcoming events so that Brothers may attend and support your Lodge’s activities. You may use the Google Form below to let me know of the event and I will gladly pass that information along to all of the Lodges.

I hope that you all remain safe as we begin to enjoy some of the activities that help strengthen our bonds as Masons. Let us ever remember that our obligations, shared experiences, and common belief in the betterment of mankind through the lessons of Masonry are what allow us to work in peace and harmony in and out of our Lodges.

Sincerely and Fraternally,

David C. Berndt, PM

MWSA President

If you are desirous of making yourself available for one of these positions, please send your Masonic resumé to David Berndt. Resumés may be send to Please also include the positions for which you are making yourself available.

Brothers, your MWSA does not run without the help of Brothers from around your District. District #108 Forum and Exam

District #108 should have a very strong showing at the event.

  • Morton Lodge No. 72 will be conferring a Graded EA Degree on Wednesday 21 October 2020. The gavel will drop at 7:00 PM.

Lodge Google Calendars

Please work to keep your Lodge's Google Calendar that is linked to the District #108 Google Calendar up-to-date. With everyone's calendar up-to-date, Brothers from other Lodges will be able to plan to attend more events and meetings around our District. This will take some work on the part of whoever controls the individual Lodge's Google Calendar, but it will be well worth the time investment.

Thank you!
