Our Mission
We will assist public middle and high school students in Forsyth County in preparing themselves for successful college enrollment.
Our Vision
We seek to ensure that every public school student in Forsyth County has the opportunity to attend college.
This newsletter is published quarterly to keep you informed of activities, deadlines, and program opportunities. It is your responsibility to meet deadlines and fulfill program requirements. Reading the newsletter and logging in to your Crosby Scholars student portal regularly will keep you apprised of the latest program information.
Check It Out: Crosby Scholars Academies
The Crosby Scholars Academy offers students academic and personal development workshops on a variety of skill enhancement topics that support student achievement and college planning. Crosby Scholars freshmen are required to attend one academy during the fall. Topics covered include:
Time management
Stress management
Preparing for a career
Strategies for success
Test-taking skills
Personality types
ABC's of going to college
Right decisions, right now
Social media tips
Financial Literacy

Scholars who submitted a completed community service form were entered into a drawing for prizes. Winners of the October contest received $25 Target gift cards!

The holiday season is a great time to fulfill your community service hours, and many organizations are looking for volunteers to help with service projects.
Check our website for community service opportunities and to download a community service form. You don't have to wait until the deadline to submit your form.
Don't Stress Out:
Stress management tips:
1. Manage your time by keeping your planner or calendar up-to-date.
2. Mark assignment due dates and other important dates you need to keep track of.
3. Make a to-do list to prioritize your responsibilities and tasks
4. Clutter can cause stress, so keep your room organized and clean out your locker or bookbag periodically
5. Learn how to study in a way that is most effective for you'
6. Practice self-care by getting plenty of sleep, exercising, and taking time out to hang out with friends or do things you enjoy.
7. Eat healthy foods and drink plenty of water
Freshman Year Timelines
As a freshman, you should learn about high school graduation requirements and minimum admissions requirements to UNC system colleges. Take advantage of free resources such as CFNC and CollegeBoard to ensure that you are up-to-date on the most important college admission information. Using a yearly timeline is a smart way to remain on track to finish high school successfully and apply to college. If you are not already following a timeline, please consider any of those listed below to guide you through the remainder of freshman year and help you prepare for 10th grade.
A Quick Reminder: High School Program requirements
- Attend one academy, hosted in Fall 2019
- Complete at least two hours of community service by March 11, 2020 (five hours is recommended for high school students)
- Do not receive out-of-school suspension
- Continue to participate in It’s My Call/It’s Our Call random drug screening program
- Remain enrolled in a Forsyth County public school and graduate from a Forsyth County public school
- Fulfill the terms of the Partnership Agreement

Your Portal to Success: the Crosby Scholars Student Portal
As a high school student, you are advised to log in to your Crosby Scholars student portal at least bi-weekly to keep your information updated and to register for an academy.
If you don't know how to access your Crosby Scholars student portal, send a message to highschool@crosbyscholars.org with your name and email, and someone will assist you.
Parents can monitor their student's Crosby Scholars student portal, view announcements and events, and confirm if their student has fulfilled program requirements by logging in to their Crosby Scholars parent portal. If you need assistance accessing your parent portal, please email highschool@crosbyscholars.org.
