Principal Message
Many "Thank you's" are needed this week!!!
Thank you to everyone who were able to attend our "Meet the Staff" evening on Wednesday, September 11. It was wonderful to meet so many of our new families and reconnect with our current families.
Thank you, as well, to our School Council, OLPH Parish, and Strathcona County Boys & Girls Club for sharing your wonderful information with all of our school community.
Thank you to our Team Tigers for your help make our "Meet the Staff" event even more successful.
Last but not least, Thank you to all of our parent Volunteers from the Corn Roast / L'Épluchette who helped our kids fill their bellies with some wonderful corn!!!
I have been in contact with Strathcona County with regards to the construction in front of the school. They have assured us that construction should be completed soon.
The parking lot exit will be continually monitored and gravel will be added if needed to retain a safe exit for all until the completion of the construction.
Thank you for your patience and understanding.
God Bless,
M. Morin

A Reading From The Gospel for Sunday, September 15, 2019
Now all the tax collectors and sinners were coming near to listen to him. And the Pharisees and the scribes were grumbling and saying, "This fellow welcomes sinners and eats with them."
So he told them this parable: "Which one of you, having a hundred sheep and losing one of them, does not leave the ninety-nine in the wilderness and go after the one that is lost until he finds it?
When he has found it, he lays it on his shoulders and rejoices. And when he comes home, he calls together his friends and neighbors, saying to them, "Rejoice with me, for I have found my sheep that was lost."
Just so, I tell you, there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who need no repentance."
The Gospel of the Lord.

Student Tardy Procedures
Should your child arrive late to school in the mornings or afternoon, they are required to sign in at the office prior to going to their classroom.
God Bless
End of Day Procedures
Please make sure that you child(ren) know if they are to take the bus or if they are getting picked up at the end of the day.
Should a student need to confirm their end of day plans, we ask that all students make their arrangements during the morning recess (10:19 a.m. - 10:34 a.m.) or during the lunch hour (12:04 p.m. - 12:47 p.m.).
This will reduce the confusion and rush at the end of the day and will also ensure that your child(ren) does not miss the bus.
If a student comes to the office at the end of the day and are unsure how they are getting home, we will be sending them home on the bus.

Parents of Teens - Sherwood Park Support Group
Dear Parents,
Parenting a teen or tween is tough and the struggle can be real or definitely feel real. Here is a local parenting support group where parents can go gain support, understand development and how to parent these "almost-adults-but-still-our-babies" human beings. Feel free to check out this low-cost parenting support group. All the details are included in this poster.
You are also more than welcome to come chat with me. My role at OLPH is to support children and their families to be the best they can be, especially around social-emotional well-being. Being a teenager can be a difficult chapter and I am happy to be a landing spot for these students to come and chat with. But I am also here for parents and guardians to gain support and a clearer understanding of their child's development. I truly believe "it takes a village to raise a child" and it is my honour to be a part of your child's village.
Have a wonderful day!
Mme Simone Moniz
