Bridger students and families - join us for our summer math challenge and you could be the next winner! We know that a little bit of math each week will keep your skills sharp over the summer and help you start next year with increased confidence. Since we are not able to offer in person summer school this year we challenge you to continue your work with online learning over the summer. We will be tracking usage for students in three platforms - MobyMax, Dreambox and Prodigy. Each week we will record the names of all students who have done at least 30 minutes of math and draw 4 names to be our weekly winners. Each winner will receive a $25 Fred Meyer gift card in the mail.
Here is a brief description of each online math platform.
MobyMax - All of our Bridger students in grades 3 - 8 are already registered for MobyMax. MobyMax offers differentiated lessons and practice based on each student’s needs in all the math strands. Students can also choose to work on fluency with addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. As students reach proficiency with each content standard MobyMax will move them on to the next level.
Dreambox - Currently all Portland Public Schools students have access to Dreambox through July 31st. Dreambox is offered in both Spanish and English. Dreambox assesses students as they work and offers support through hints as they try each lesson. Dreambox can be accessed through Clever. Dreambox is more like a game than MobyMax and the lessons include interactive problem solving.
Prodigy - Prodigy is a game based math platform. Students receive differentiated lessons based on their skill level. The lessons and practice students complete in Prodigy help them move through the game. All of our students at Bridger have access to Prodigy. The students start with a placement test and then the game adapts to their level.
