Ms. Davis' 1st Grade Happenings

Hello Parents!

We had another fantastic week in first grade! We had a pizza party today for having the most box tops! yay! As you know Friday, March 28th is now a make-up day, that will be our wake up and read day. Students may wear their comfy pjs because we will be reading all day long! Next week students will not have a homework packet. A list of review spelling words will be sent home on Monday and we will have a spelling test next Thursday the 27th.

Next Week We Will...

Next week will be a review and assessment week! The end of the 3rd quarter is next Friday! Time is flying by! This means we will be wrapping up all of our units and begin preparing for our assessments and knocking them out!

We will have a summative 3rd quarter math assessment covering; 2d & 3d shapes, unkown addends, and addition and subtraction word problems. Our Social Studies assessment will cover Caring for our Community. Our unassisted writing assessment will be an "All About" writing sample. Lastly, I will be reading with students individually to ensure that they are at their target reading level for the end of 3rd quarter.

Spring conferences will be coming up after spring break, so be on the lookout for a sign up sheet shortly! At our conference we will discuss the 3rd quarter assessments listed above ^^^^ and your child's progress thus far! Can you believe they are almost 2nd graders?!?!

Guest Reader Fridays!

This Friday our lovely guidance counselor Ms. Burston came to read and do a fun activity with the class. Thank you so much Ms. Burston!
