Holly Hall Elementary
Family Update 03.20.22
A Message from the Principal
Greetings Holly Hall Families,
Our 5th graders worked hard last week, completing the Maryland State Science testing. We are proud of their determination and focus. Students also enjoyed searching for Humphrey, our pesky little hampster, hidden throughout the building. He has enjoyed visiting so many classrooms and learning with our students each day! We hope you are enjoying reading Adventure According to Humphrey along with us.
Please note the schedule changes for this week: Wednesday is a 2:00 pm dismissal, Thursday is a 1:30 dismissal day and Friday there is no school for students for a Professional Day.
Enjoy and have a fabulous week,
Ms. Lowe

This is Mr. Matt for sure! He is a very special member of our staff, our students look up to him. Join us in congratulating and thanking him for all he does to make Holly Hall a better place!

AVID Focus: The Frayer Model
Quick Review: What is a Frayer Model?
Found under the O (Organization) of WICOR, the Frayer Model is a graphic organizer for building student vocabulary. This technique requires students to define target vocabulary and apply their knowledge by generating examples and non-examples, giving characteristics, and/or drawing a picture to illustrate the meaning of the word.
Using the Frayer Model to Teach Multiplication Facts
In just 8 minutes you can learn how to help your child learn their multiplication facts using the Frayer Model. This is a vital skill for math fluency that will help them greatly as they develop in their math skills.
