The Roadrunner
Ben Franklin Elementary School
December/January
Dear Families,
On behalf of the PTO board and all of our students, we want to THANK YOU for making our Turkey Bingo event a success! We enjoy having all of our families together once again! A special thank you to those who provided donations or volunteered their time. Your continued dedication to Ben Franklin is appreciated.
For the safety of ALL students, we count on our families to follow the Turn Lane guidelines in the morning, as well as after school. It was reported this week that a few students were dropped off from the left lane and ran between cars dropping children off in the right lane. Drivers should only let students out when they are in the right lane and exit from the curbside only. Depending on the size of the vehicle, children may not be visible to the driver. We recognize that the mornings are a busy time for everyone but following our turn lane rules is crucial for student safety.
Ben Franklin will participate in the Community Pajama Drive this year. There is a table in the foyer where the pajama donations can be placed. Thank you to those who have already donated! Last year we collected over 300 pairs of pajamas! Our 4th Graders have decided to purchase pajamas with the money they raise from their "Kids Who Care" project. Thank you 4th Grade! The pajama drive and our annual food drive will end on Dec. 17th. Food donations can be placed under the tree in the foyer. We enjoy participating in projects that help members in our community.

PTO News
Thank you to all of you who participated in our Cherrydale fundraiser. The items will be delivered Tuesday, December 18th.
Keep sending in Boxtops! We have a great start to our collection for the year. Please write the teacher's name on a baggie and ask your child to help you count out how many they turned in. We have purchased additional games to give to the class who turns in the most prizes.
