Winter Benchmark Assessments & Panorama Survey
Students will also complete the F&P reading assessment from December 5th-16th. This is an assessment that will require your child to read a book with the teacher and then answer some questions about the story. Please encourage your child to do their best on this as well.
The winter Panorama Survey for all 3-5th graders will be given from December 12th-16th. This survey helps us in identifying how we can help give our students tools to help them regulate emotions and understand their feelings. Parents may opt out of this survey by printing this opt out form and sending it into the Mrs. Maxedon or Mrs. Haas.
All of the assessments we take help us in meeting your child's needs and identifying their strengths and weaknesses. If you have questions about the assessments that your child performs please contact the teacher.
Tis the Season To Dress Up at School
Drop Off, Pick UP, and Bus Drop Off Information
Our dismissal process will start about 3:15 with busses loading about 3:21pm. We ask that all parents use the pick up lane rather than walking up to get your child. Please stay in the car and allow the staff to help your child get to the car. This allows traffic to keep moving and dismissal to be quick and safe. If you are parking to pick up a pre-k student or need to come in to the school from 3:00-3:30 we ask that you use the south parking lot. Pre-K car riders are picked up at the bus/gym entrance at 3:15PM.
Please ensure that you are available or have a plan for bus drop off at the end of the day. Our drivers have full buses and are not able to wait or it will cause all stops to be late. If the bus is not able to drop off a student, transportation will contact you to let you know that your child will have to be picked up at the school.
Thank you for your help in keeping our students and staff safe.

Sangamon County Advocacy Group Education
The Sangamon County Advocacy Center will be here on January 12th and 13th for the final lesson of being safe and kind. The majority of this lesson will focus on bullying and review the information they talked about in October.
If you opted your child out last time they will be considered an opt out this time as well. You can opt out of the new lessons by contacting your child's teacher or the office.
You can learn more about the Program at www.mbfpreventioneducation.org.
New Berlin Elementary PTO
The NBE PTO is a big part of our school community. They are continuously supporting staff through grants that then impact each of our students. The PTO also organizes Book Fairs, Milk and Cookies with Santa, and Bounce Tag. There is no obligation to volunteer when attending meetings, come and meet some other parents to hear about what they have going on. Consider getting involved by attending the monthly meetings at 4 Amigos. Meetings start at 6:00pm.
