We will learn the sound/spelling for long /a/ a_e, ai, a, and ay. We will read “Hang On Rose”, “On Saturday”, and “The River City” in our hardback reader. Our reading strategy this week
will be answering questions. This month we will focus on asking questions before, during, and after reading a story. Our vocabulary words are assert, cheerful, congenial, congregate, offend, and retorted. We will work on learning adjectives (er and est). Our new writing focus this trimester will be opinion writing. We will become experts at writing a review.
We will work on greater than, less than, and equal to. We will work on adding 10 and subtracting 10 from a given number. We will work on solving problems in our math journals. We will work on math fluency in addition and subtraction to 10. We will do math centers/games to reinforce math skills already taught.
We will be researching our topic (animal, thing or person) to make a “Did You Know?” bubble. We will learn about non-fiction features while doing this.
