TODAY IS DAY 3.
- The English Honor Society meeting has been cancelled for TODAY. Please see the Google Classroom for details. Sorry for the last minute cancellation.
- Tonight's scheduled Peer Mentor training has been cancelled. Please visit the Google Classroom for additional information.
- The 2023-2024 Math Team will have its first meet after school TODAY, Monday Oct. 16th at 3pm in room 209W. The meet is virtual. All our math students are welcome! See Mrs. Hickey with questions!

- This Wednesday is Sleepy Hollow HS College and Career Readiness Day. Remember to fully charge your device for PSAT testing and the Senior Workshops. Upon arriving at 8:30 AM please proceed to your testing room and/or workshop location. Juniors and Seniors opting to attend BOCES on Wednesday will depart and return at the normal times.
- Attention National Honor Society Applicants: Acceptance letters will be mailed this week. The Induction Ceremony will be held on October 24th at 7:00 pm. All current and new members are required to attend. Check Google classroom for an assignment for all new members by Thursday, October 19th.
- Attention underclassmen: student IDs have been handed out by science and math teachers. If you took a student portrait and did not receive your school ID please fill out the missing ID form that can be found on your Homeroom google classroom by October 31st.
- Attention Seniors!!! Senior Portrait Dates are currently open and available to make appointments: October 19th & 20th, November 8th & 9th, and December 7th. There will be no senior portrait sittings past December 2023. Directions for signup can be found on the Yearbook Google Classroom. If you have any questions or if you have trouble signing up, please reach out to your Yearbook Advisors - Mrs. Katsman (Room 211W) or Mrs. Adamo (Room 210W).
- RiverArts and the Tarrytown Music Hall co-present Ronald K. Brown/EVIDENCE, A Dance Company this fall on Saturday, October 21st at 7:30pm. The show provides a unique perspective of human struggles, tragedies, and triumphs and integrates traditional African dance with spoken word and contemporary choreography. - SHHS Cares is sponsoring a sneaker drive. We are in need of new or gently used sneakers for all ages. All donations are distributed back to the community through the non-profit organization 914Cares. Boxes will be located at the main entrance and by the gym. Please support our club.
- Students interested in joining SPEAR stop by room 300N either before or after school to see Ms. Waczek or email her.
- Are you interested in being a teacher or working with kids? Please join us for our first Take a Look at Teaching meeting this year, on Thursday, 10/26 after school in room 410E. See Mrs. Sarr if you have any questions.
- Attention all students & staff: The fitness center is open Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday mornings at 6:40am for any student or staff member interested in using it. Haven’t ever worked out before or intimidated by the exercise machine thing? No problem Coach/trainer Mr. DiLorenzo is there to help show you and program for you if needed or wanted.
- The SHHS Homework Center is now open Mondays-Fridays from 3:00-4:00 PM in room 300N. We provide homework help, content-specific tutoring, general academic assistance, and snacks. Visit the HW Center today!

COMMUNITY SERVICE OPPORTUNITIES:
- The Warner Library is looking for volunteers to help out at their book sale in October. Please stop by the main office for more information and to sign up to volunteer.
- The TaSH Farmers Market has opportunities available. Please review and complete the survey that will be emailed to your student email accounts: 2023 TaSH Hand Description + Application
RiverArts is in need of student volunteers (who work in exchange for community service hours) for their many upcoming fall events. All students will be offered tickets to our spring events if they wish to attend, as a way of saying thank you! And students who volunteer for the Ronald K. Brown Dance Company at the Tarrytown Music Hall are invited to stay and watch the performance. Please see the flier below for further details and/or stop by the main office to pick one up.
- Our Varsity Volleyball team won their Homecoming Senior match against Irvington on Friday night. Linette Kupfer led the team with 9 kills and 14 digs, Tara Klami had 8 kills and 8 digs, and Lizbeth Patino had 17 assists. On Saturday the team lost in an extremely close 5 set match against Briarcliff. Linette Kupfer had 17 kills and 14 digs, Mariah Newbey had 12 digs, and Lizbeth Patino had 19 assists. The team will travel to Blind Brook today.
- Our Varsity Football team was defeated by a very strong Pleasantville team on Friday night. Next up the Horsemen will host Rye on Saturday afternoon.
- Our Varsity Girls Soccer team won vs Walter Panas on Saturday, for their last game of the regular season. Up next, 1st round of the postseason on Saturday.
- Our Varsity Boys Soccer team lost a close game on Friday night at Peekskill, with a 1-0 score, for their last game of the regular season. The team's first game of the postseason will be Friday.

- 10/16 - Ryan's Story Assembly for Parents - antibullying/suicide prevention. This is intended for adult audiences. Please do not bring children to this assembly (see flier below for more details)
- 10/17 - Ryan's Story Assembly for students - during school day (see flier below for more details)
- 10/18 - College and Career Readiness Day - 1/2 day for all students (Digital PSATs for grades 9-11; College and Career workshops for grade 12). All students should bring their school-issued Chromebook or laptop to school fully charged.
