CASH FIFTH GRADE

"Little House on the Playground"

I am so excited to have your child in my class this year! We will have a great year. With our small class size, I believe we will get a lot accomplished.

Our classroom, which is the portable (little house) on the playground, now has electricity and a ramp built up to the door. For those that visited on Sunday, you will be happy to know our classroom is now quite comfortable! However, we do not have a water hook-up, so please send your child with a water bottle each day (or send a refillable that he or she can leave at school). Also, I would suggest, at your convenience, sending an umbrella for your child to use for rainy days.

For those who were not able to attend Sunday's meeting, car line will be done a little differently this year. Fifth grade student parents will drop off his or her student at the portable, if you arrive between 7:45 - 8:00. This prevents your child from walking across the parking lot with all the car line traffic. (If your child arrives before 7:45, he or she will go to early morning, and after 8:00, you will need to sign in at the office.) In the afternoon, I will walk the students across the parking lot to the covered area. We also have identification decals that hang from your rear view mirror. This will allow all the teachers to quickly get each child into the correct vehicle and help with traffic on Beechcroft Road. Of course, anytime you wish to come in or speak with a teacher, you may park at the front of the building.

Paperwork!

I may be a bit of a nerd, but I like to get new school supplies! But, filling out all those back-to-school forms, I don't feel is as much fun. However, those forms give us very important information about your child. So, please send those in as you can!
