Notes from Dr. Elliott
THANK YOU!
Happy Fall everyone! First, I would like to say thank you so much to everyone who donated to our Color Fun-raiser. I think postponing the event worked out perfectly. We ended up with some beautiful weather and still a wonderful parent support showing. Thank you so much for sharing this event and making this event memorable for all.
AM Car Line
Another thank you to the parents who have demonstrated cooperation with car line in the morning and walking your students in when running behind. Please continue to partner with us by abiding by the car line system. We have had staff come early to make the car line work more efficiently for you. We ask that you abide with the same courtesy by following the system. We are role models for our children. When we show our children that rules do not apply to us, we are modeling those expectations for our children. Please remember:
- Do not enter car line from the west of Bates. ONLY Enter from Redrex and circle around coming from the EAST. We do not have a merging system in the morning.
- Do not utilize the bus line prior to 7:20. After 7:20, the bus line is used for late drop off.
Attendance Update
We are currently in 4th place in the district within hundredths of a percent from moving up. If we are successful in reaching this number, our students will have a school wide party. In that same respect, we do also honor that students can become ill. Please respect the 24 hour fever free and vomit free policy. We want your child and all children to be at their Dolphin Best.
Seminole-Disney Spooktacular
Finally, please join us on Sunday, October 29th from 5-7:30 for a Spooktacular event with our community partners, Seminole Baptist. We look forward to seeing you there.
Your partner in education,
Dr. Lori Elliott
Disney Principal

A Note from the Counselor
Disney Families,
I am so grateful that it is finally starting to feel like fall! The counseling department has been busy this year with over 250 visits/interventions from the school counselors so far, as well as over 50 classroom counseling lessons!
This school year, we have already learned a lot in counseling lessons including emotion identification, empathy, how emotions and the brain are connected, and kindness. In the upcoming months we will be continuing some of these topics, as well as providing lessons around Healthy vs. Unhealthy choices right around Halloween time. In the upper grades, we will soon be discussing bullying and problem-solving. I look forward to helping your students grow socio-emotionally!
Please feel free to reach out to myself or Linda Cox if you have any questions or concerns!
Thanks!
