A Message from Principal Katherine Rivera
The rain will be with us all week. We have a plan for indoor recess and lunch this week. All outdoor activities will be moved to indoors. Students will still need a rain jacket and sturdy shoes when walking to the cafeteria for snack and lunch. The storm looks to be at it's peak around 3-4pm. A colleague shared this article with me tonight: https://www.kron4.com/news/bay-area/level-5-storm-prompts-school-closures/ Stay safe.
Parent volunteers needed to support student supervision during lunch
Dear Parents,
We hope this message finds you well. As you know, the safety and well-being of our students are our top priority.
As you may be aware, our school has been facing ongoing yard duty and instructional assistant staff shortages, which have impacted our ability at times to adequately supervise students during lunch breaks.
We are currently seeking volunteers and paid staff to help with yard duty, specifically during lunchtime. As a volunteer, you would be responsible for supervising students on the playground, enforcing safety rules, and helping to create a positive and welcoming environment for all students.
We understand that volunteering can be a time commitment, and we are grateful for any time that you are able to give. Whether you are able to volunteer once a week, once a month, or on an occasional basis, every little bit helps.
If you are interested in volunteering for yard duty, please sign up on the link created by our parent volunteer. We appreciate your support and look forward to working with you to create a safe and welcoming environment for all of our students.
If you are interested in applying for the paid yard duty position from 11am-1pm daily, please reach out to Principal Katherine directly.
