Spring Has Sprung!

Dear Fantabulous Teachers and Staff,

We have several busy weeks ahead. Be sure to take time for yourself and enjoy all of the signs of spring!

Principals Walk-Through on April 21st (Repost)

Kyla, my supervisor, asked if I would be willing to host the Network 1 principals on April 21st. They will join me for scheduled 10 minute classroom visits to a majority of the classrooms with a focus on blended learning and small group instruction. We will create a schedule prior to the visit so that you know exactly when folks will be coming into your room. This has been a very positive experience at both Peralta and Thornhill, and I am excited for them to see what's happening at JM!

Try innerExplorer Mindfulness Program (repost)

This is a repeated message. Please let me know how it goes if you try it with your students!

At my principal PD this past Thursday, we learned about a mindfulness program called innerExplorer. It is an easy to use online program for teaching mindfulness in the classroom. I signed us up for a FREE three year membership and entered information for each of your classrooms. The program is as simple as pressing play on their website for a 10 minute mindfulness lesson. There are 90 sessions in the program. Research shows that disciplinary issues decline and academic performance increases with use of this program. I figured since it's free we could give it a shot! I believe there is a brief online training for teachers. I will let you know when I learn more about this. You can check out the program by going to www.innerexplorer.org. You should also be receiving an email from innerExplorer.

Donors Choose Projects

Now that you all have Donors Choose accounts, try posting project to be funded!

Teacher Act at the Talent Show?? (Reposting this...)

Who would like to help organize and plan an act? Who would like to be part of the act? Please let me know if you are interested in helping with this! :)

Yard Duty!

Please remember to be outside for your scheduled yard duty times!! Set a reminder on your phone or computer if necessary. Thanks!

Overall we are doing much better with getting our attendance submitted on a daily basis. Keep up the good work!

With appreciation,

Sara
