Create masks and giant puppets

Join us in exploring creative ways to deal with stress

We will be engaged in actively creating our own individual paper mache masks and giant puppets while we explore ways to cope with stress in our lives. There will be discussion about the cause and effect of stress and how we can better deal with stress. A professional performer and mask maker will be leading us in creating our puppets and school counselors will be guiding the discussion.

Creative Ways to Deal with Stress

Tuesday, Dec. 10th, 3-5pm

WHERE? Cane Creek Middle School, Room 243

WHEN? Tuesday, December 10, Wednesday, December 11, Monday, December 16, Tuesday, December 17 and Wednesday, December 18 after school from 3:00-5:00.

Students will need to return permission forms to Beth Lindsey by Friday, December 7. Permission forms are available in the front office. Because of the interactive activities, this group will be limited to the first fifteen students who return their permission forms. There is no cost to participate, but donations are accepted to help cover the cost of materials. We will be using various recyclable items to form our mask mold. Any plastic containers (milk/juice jugs, cool whip containers, yogurt cups, etc), newspaper, and brown paper bags you may collect will help provide a good base of materials. We will also be using a great deal of wide masking tape and fabric/flat bedsheets; if you have a good source for this any help is appreciated. Students will need a ride home at 5:00pm.
