Important Dates to Remember!
Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day - Tuesday, December 7
On Aug. 23, 1994, the United States Congress designated December 7 as National Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day. This day is set aside to honor and remember the 2,403 service members and civilians who were killed during the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941. A further 1,178 people were injured in the attack, which permanently sank two U.S. Navy battleships (the USS Arizona and the USS Utah) and destroyed 188 aircraft.
The flag of the United States shall be flown at half-staff on Tuesday, December 7, in honor of the individuals who died as a result of their service at Pearl Harbor.

What's On the Menu?
Ms. Colbert's sixth grade science students set out to determine what makes up an owl's diet. Students dissected owl pellets to find the skeletons of animals the owls eat. Through this lab work, students were able to better understand how energy is transferred in ecosystems and how complex food webs are.
