COLLIER ADULT EDUCATION

Message from the Leadership Team.
Many exciting lessons are planned in our classes which are aligned to our Florida ESOL Curriculum Frameworks. Our beginning ELCATE class had the opportunity to present weather reports in the MakeIt lab in a collaborative effort with our Media Specialist, Vanessa. Each team had 2 news anchors and a meteorologist. The students practiced soft skills such as speaking clearly, making eye contact, and having professional body language. The students were held accountable by receiving a score on a rubric. Click on links below to check out the live weather reports!

ESOL Instructor Resources
I am excited to be able to share with you some new and AWESOME resources I was introduced to when I was at the Best Practices Round Up in River Ranch, Fl, where many counties got together to share and collaborate 'tried and true' best practices.
I have uploaded to our google share drive. Under the folder 'Pacing Guides', you will find a pdf file with many links that lead to resources from First Day ESL activities, to role plays, to conversation cards, video links etc.
Another new folder created was titled, 'Planning your ESOL lesson'. Check it out!
