From the Principal

As we approach our first school break, I wanted to take a moment to thank the parents. Sometimes we need to remember the small things that are so often taking for granted. Packing a lunch, remembering the bookbag, remembering the gym clothes, dropping off the forgotten Chromebook, grudgingly offering to volunteer in your spare time in spite of the millions of things going on in your life. We are all in this together as a school community. Our success is a result of working together for the good of all students. Take the long weekend to ENJOY your family. Create memories, be thankful for what you have instead of worrying all those things you have no control over. God bless all of you!

Monday 10/15:

Wednesday 10/17:

· Canned Food hoodie day. Students may add any hoodie to their uniforms with a canned food donation for Helping Hands Food Pantry.

· Marco's pizza fundraiser--order dinner from Marco's pizza and give them your homeroom information to earn extra money for our school!

Thursday 10/18:

· Rosary in the Church at 8:00 am. Please join us if you are able.

Friday 10/19:

· Mass--students must be in mass attire. Please join us for mass if you are able.

Saturday 10/20:

· 75th Anniversary Celebration Open House after the 4:30 mass with Bishop Perez Join us as we look back on 75 years of memorabilia.

Annual Butterbraid Sale

Wednesday began our Stoller Butterbraids sale. Profits from this sale will benefit current 6th and 7th-graders as they earn money toward their 8th-grade trip to Washington DC. Please feel free to purchase or sell to as many people as you'd like. Items will be packaged by order and can be picked up in Carrabine Hall on 11/15 from 2:30 pm-4:30 pm. Please collect payment as you sell them to your customers. Checks can be made payable to St. Jude School.

Marco Pizza Fundraiser Night

Take the night off from cooking and order from Marco Pizza on Wednesday, October 17th. Be sure to include your student's homeroom number when you place your order. The classroom with the highest sales earns a dress down day.

Get ready for a spooktacular time

Looking forward to seeing everyone at the annual Halloween dance on Friday, October 12th. Thank you for returning your permission slips and money.

Join the Celebration

Save the Date: Saturday, October 20th Bishop Perez will celebrate 4:30 Mass to honor our 75th Anniversary. Open House will immediately follow in the school. We are looking for volunteers to help with this event. If you'd like to share your gifts and talents, click the link below to sign up

Back by popular demand: The Celebrating Sunday for Catholic Families books will be available after all Masses the next few weeks on a first come, first serve basis.

Gift Card Program

Sign up now to start earning Tuition Credit for your April 2019 tuition payment or to help pay your 2019/20 registration fee. Go to and sign up using St. Jude code 7A5739E6835L. You may place an order for physical gift cards monthly. Online orders are due by noon the first Monday of the month; then you send a check thru school made out to St. Jude Certificate Program in an envelope marked "Gift Card Program" or pay by PrestoPay; then orders are sent home with your child on Friday. Next order is going to be placed on Monday, October 8th. If you have PrestoPay, you can print your gift cards at home or pull them up on your phone. Elyria Catholic to host Fall Open House on Sunday

EC Fall Open House is on Sunday, October 14, 2018, from 11:30 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. Our Placement Tests are on Saturday, October 20, 2018 or Saturday, November 3, 2018 from 8:30 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. There will be a parent information meeting held at 8:30 on the day of both tests which will provide families with information on the high school application process and will include financial aid and scholarship information. It's Box Top Time

2018-19 Box Top Submission deadlines are November 1 and March 1, so please keep those dates in mind as there are expiration dates on the box tops. Ideally, class collections in October and February to prepare for submission dates, bundled if you can in groups of 50 using an envelope or Ziploc type bag. Expired Box tops cannot be included for credit, so please remove these before sending into the classroom. Classroom contest for the most collected so make sure homeroom number is on submissions. PTO appreciates family effort/support as the money earned for the school will help fund school projects and events. Check out the BOX-Top Bonus App to earn even more for the school. This app is in addition to the code on products. Your store receipt can be uploaded for bonus points. Log into to learn more.

AARP Foundation Tax-Aide provides free tax-filing help to those who need it most? We are looking for compassionate and friendly individuals to join our volunteer team this upcoming tax season. We’ll provide the training and support to help you learn new skills, and you’ll get a great feeling from helping someone else. Training is in January and the tax season runs from February 1st through April 15th.
