A Message from the Director
Greetings Dream Team-
This week I leave you with one of my favorite poems! I'd like for you to think about the task that seems insurmountable to you as you read through it. When you get to the end, reflect on that task, jot down what practices you must execute in order to overcome it, action plan to defeat it, and then DO IT!
It Couldn’t Be Done
BY EDGAR GUEST
Somebody said that it couldn’t be done
But he with a chuckle replied
That “maybe it couldn’t,” but he would be one
Who wouldn’t say so till he’d tried.
So he buckled right in with the trace of a grin
On his face. If he worried he hid it.
He started to sing as he tackled the thing
That couldn’t be done, and he did it!
Somebody scoffed: “Oh, you’ll never do that;
At least no one ever has done it;”
But he took off his coat and he took off his hat
And the first thing we knew he’d begun it.
With a lift of his chin and a bit of a grin,
Without any doubting,
He started to sing as he tackled the thing
That couldn’t be done, and he did it.
There are thousands to tell you it cannot be done,
There are thousands to prophesy failure,
There are thousands to point out to you one by one,
The dangers that wait to assail you.
But just buckle in with a bit of a grin,
Just take off your coat and go to it;
Just start in to sing as you tackle the thing
That “cannot be done,” and you’ll do it.
You are the master of your own destiny- everything starts with you!
The Dream Team Will Fight!
All My Best,
-Director Parks

A MESSAGE FROM DEAN BAUGHMAN
Instructional Focus
The Instructional Focus this week and leading into next will be execution of systems with fidelity. This means that we must have an “All Hands On Deck” approach to ensuring all systems are running smoothly. If there are scholars not meeting expectations, remind them of the system and continue to practice! As a reminder, in the hallway teacher actions are as follows:
Pacing the hallway
Reminding scholars of the time
Reminding scholars of voice levels (voice level 1)
Expectations for dismissal:
1,2,3,4 stand up
Remind scholars of the hallway voice level
Any news or updates for your class.
As I continue to make changes to the schedule, I appreciate your flexibility!
A Message from Special Education Coordinator Mrs. Jones
Special Populations
What’s an IEP?
The acronym IEP stands for Individualized Education Program. This is a written document that describes the educational program designed to meet a child’s individual needs. Every child who receives special education must have an IEP. The IEP has two general purposes: (1) to set learning goals for your child; and (2) to state the supports and services that the school district will provide for your child.
Filling out the blue sheet on a scholar is very important, you must list their strengths and weakness, that you have collected from observations, test, and data.
