what is ginger?
Ginger is the underground rhizome of the ginger plant with a firm, rough texture. The flesh of the ginger rhizome can be yellow, white or red in color, depending on the variety. It is covered with a brownish skin that may either be thick or thin, depending upon whether the plant was harvested when it was mature or young.
what is Ginger used for?
It can be used fresh, dried and powdered, or as a juice or oil. Ginger is commonly used to treat various types of stomach problems. Ginger contains chemicals that may reduce nausea and inflammation. Researchers believe that these chemicals work in the stomach and intestines, but they may also work in the brain and control nausea.
