I hope the month of June has started on a good note. Below are important dates and information to keep you informed. Please tell your students that I hope they are safe and enjoying their summer break!

Beginning May 30th through July 22nd, Beaver Ridge Elementary School's Front Office will open Monday - Friday from 8:00 am - 3:00 pm.

The Registration Office is open Monday - Friday from 8:00 am - 2:00 pm.

• Monday, June 19th in observance of Juneteenth
• July 3-7th in observance of Independence Day
• Friday, July 14 - Gwinnett County Public Schools holiday

Main Entrance

During normal workdays, the back entrance will be solely for employees. All visitors must come through the main entrance in the front of the school. Please be prepared to scan your identification. Visitors will not be able to enter the school through the back entrance.

Parking Lot

Several parking spots in the front of the school are now designated for "Visitor Parking." There are a few that are reserved for the handicap and employees.

Below is a picture to help you locate the parking spots.

The First Day of School for all students in grades Pre-Kindergarten - 5th grade will be August 2, 2023.

Beaver Ridge Elementary Open House & Meet the Teacher is on Thursday, July 27th from 8:00-12:00

On August 29th, please join us at Beaver Ridge Elementary Curriculum Night where you will have the opportunity to learn about your child’s classroom from the teacher.

• Session 1: 5:00pm
• Session 2: 6:00pm

Gwinnett County’s Summer Meals Program is back with free grab-and-go breakfasts and lunches from May 30 to Aug. 1. The nutritious meals are for families with children 18 and under or those 19 and older with a physical or mental impairment. Meals can be picked up curbside at 21 sites from 11:00am to 1:00pm, Monday through Friday — while supplies last.

Below is a list of all 21 locations where summer meals are available for pick up.

Students can keep their skills sharp this summer with self-paced, digital support opportunities! Digital summer support will be available to K–8 students from June 5 through July 7 on the Digital Summer Support eCLASS page.

On the Student Portal, go to Additional Resources to find a link for Digital Summer Support.

Once on the Digital Summer Support eCLASS page, students and families will find information on the two digital platforms available to support learning over the summer.

Students will be able to launch their learning, using one of these platforms:

• Amplify offers practice in reading;
• iReady supports mathematics; and

Students do not need to complete work in both platforms. Each platform will provide K–8 students with targeted learning opportunities in reading and/or mathematics, using the student’s answers to determine areas in which they need more help.

These digital tools are a great way to keep students connected and learning at their own pace during the summer!

This school year, we will be providing students with Back to School supplies. Teachers will have the supplies in their classrooms. If you choose to purchase school supplies for your student, they may keep them at home for projects and homework.

The following are supplies that will not be provided, but will be needed:

• Backpack
• 1 pair of headphones (over-ear: please no earbuds)
• Pencil case

Students' homeroom assignments for the 2023-24 school year will be posted at the front of the school side door windows on July 25 in the afternoon. Parents may also see assignments in the Parent Portal.

Parents, we are excited to have your child attend Beaver Ridge Elementary School!

We are living and operating in unprecedented times that are challenging us in many ways. With new challenges come new and innovative practices. Enrolling in our school begins as a digital process.

All students new to GCPS, transferring from another GCPS school, out of the county or out of the state must all enroll through the

GCPS Virtual Enrollment OLR (online registration) process on the GCPS website.

Please share this information with your new neighbors who have school age children.
