The Raider Soup
October 2014
Welcome to "The Raider Soup"!
What could be better than a cell cake in science class?
Mrs. Anne Stephenson came up with a great "hands-on" approach to learning about cells in science! Yummy! For 16 years, Mrs. Anne Stephenson's Biology classes have been completing Cell Cake projects!
Cell cakes rock!
The students were divided into groups to create cakes!
Studying cells!
The students in Mrs. Stephenson's biology classes completed an intensive study of the animal and plant cell.
Re-creating animal cells creatively and deliciously!
The student groups design and build a cell from totally edible materials!
Each group creates a cake that is completely individual!
The students bring a variety of edible materials to illustrate the cell!
The Cell Cakes are judged!
Upon completion, the cell cakes are judged on appearance, creativity, and the group's knowledge of the parts and function of cell organelles.
Thank you!
A big thank you to Mrs. Anne Stephenson for making learning about Biology fun! Thank you to the judges for helping grade the Cell Cakes! :)
