A Note From The Principal
The start of the new year brings much joy and hope for the year ahead. Here at St. Luke Catholic School, that is no different. As our students and staff settle back into procedures, routines, and learning, our leadership team begins to look ahead. This Friday, we welcome our first group of new Kindergarteners for screening. Next week, you will receive an intent to return form for the 2021-22 school year, as well as next year's school calendar.
Our students continue to follow our COVID procedures. Your support and positive attitude in this trying school year is much appreciated. We are always evaluating our procedures and will be making one subtle change next week. Starting Tuesday, January 19, we will return to our previous-year 3:15pm all-school dismissal for Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday. The parking lot gate will close at 3:15pm and students will be released at 3:15pm. On Wednesdays, we will be keeping the 1:00pm dismissal with the gate closing at 1:00pm. We have demonstrated we can safely and efficiently complete our dismissal in this way; however, we do ask for your patience as we integrate this procedure back into our daily routine.
As noted last week, our #stlukestrong pillar for January is service. Our student council is leading two drives this month to support our neighbors at the Northside Food Pantry at Second Presbyterian Church. Please see information below regarding this Friday's Pasta Drive.
As Inspired by Cardinal Joseph Ritter...Work Hard. Pray Hard. Don't Worry.
Mr. Grismore

#stlukestrong Food Drives During January - First One is Tomorrow, Friday, January 15th
In alignment with this month's pillar of Service, we want to help our community and are asking for your help.
- Tomorrow, Friday, January 15th we are going to do a Pasta Drive.
- On Friday, January 29th we are going to do a Cereal Drive.
The homeroom that turns in the most food for each drive will win a prize for that drive.
Please only bring donations on the listed day.
We don't have the room currently to store these items in the classrooms for multiple days. Thank you!
All of our donations are going to be taken over to the Northside Food Pantry at Second Presbyterian Church. The Student Council is going to lead the charge with these two activities.

Important Attendance Process Reminder
Who to Contact When Your Child Is Going to Be Absent from School?
We need to ask that you always include attendance@stluke.school when communicating that your student will be absent from school, for any reason, every time.
This email goes to Mrs. Koch who is responsible for ensuring we are in compliance with state regulations for tracking attendance AND Mrs. Gillig then receives the message as well. We also ask that you copy in your student's homeroom teacher. If others are needed to be brought into the loop from your initial message, we will ensure that is done on your behalf.
Thank you for your cooperation as we continue to partner together to keep our students safe, appropriately academically paced and keep our commitments and obligations in regards to reporting so we are able to position ourselves to remain in-person together. If you have any questions, on any of the information shared above, please feel free to reach out to Mrs. Koch, rkoch@stluke.school.
