Committee Meetings Will Be the First Tuesday of Each Month at 3:00 (Starting This Tuesday)
Safety and Security
Meeting--On Tuesday at your meeting, have someone go ahead and do any work orders for safety issues that come up. I will send you a Table Top exercise for you to think through during your meeting as well. Please evaluate our Arrival, Dismissal and Drill procedures.

Recruitment and Retention
Paola Barranco Reyes--Will begin on Monday as a special education assistant who works with a visually impaired third grade student. She is bilingual and went to Rock Hill Schools. She has been working with the Early Autism Project and has extensive experience providing interventions to students on the spectrum. Please welcome her when you see her.

Student Achievement
Last Monday Night at the School Board Meeting--We had five students recognized for making a perfect score on their SC READY or SC PASS tests. Max Brooks, Cheyenne Ingle (Maggie's Daughter), Rolando Ramirez Ramos and James Haas made perfect scores on Math. Rolando and McCoy Questelle made a perfect score on Science. (Rolando knew no English when he started kindergarten.) We are so proud of our kids and their success.
Meeting--At your meeting, please think through our next action steps for Professional Development from our Data Meetings. I will give you a copy of our What, So What, and Now What sheets so you can look at those to make recommendations for our PD.

Culture
Meeting--Tuesday, please bring ideas about policies and procedures and parameters as a "Hospitality" or "Sunshine" committee. We will call ours our Culture Committee because you will help plan how we recognize our staff and keep up morale. You are our Hospitality or Sunshine Committee or whatever you've called it in the past. Of course, we want you to think through how we positively affect student morale as well.

Communication
Meeting--On Tuesday, I will meet with you to show you how you can use Parentlink and Twitter for our school. Zulmarie can also share how our new International Welcome Center works. You may want to share what tools you are using to communicate with your parents as well.

Grade Chairs--Lisa Smith (K), Erin Webb (1st), Bonnie Jean Avilez (2nd), Meriam Polanco (3rd), Michelle Preston (4th), Melinda Reid (5th), Christi Beard (Related Arts), Kristina Marshall (Resource/Support) (Grade chairs are always responsible for communicating information to and from admin to help our staff stay informed.)
