Info on Bombing of Pearl Harbor
On December 7th in 1941 early in the morning Japanese dive-bomber swooped low over Pearl Harbor. Witch was the largest U.S. naval base in the Pacific. Following the bombers was 180 Japanese warplanes launched from six aircraft carriers. For an hour and a half, the Japanese planes were barely disturbed by U.S. antiaircraft guns.

In Washington, the mood ranged from outrage to panic. Franklin D. Roosevelt did not want to go start war and they had to rebuild the Navy and their Air Force. On December 8, 1941 Franklin D. Roosevelt declared war on Japan and three days later, Germany and Italy declared war on the United States.
