The Principal's Corner (11/26/23)
Vision: Learn passionately, Love inclusively, Lead boldly!
Mission: Be a campus that encourages exploration, builds culture, and empowers learners through thoughtful and creative design.
Good afternoon Jefferson Ave. Families,
I am hoping you all had the best break you could have and were able to spend time with your families. Over the break, I thought about how thankful I am to be able to serve you all and the kiddos you send to Jefferson Ave. and cannot wait to see them tomorrow. Don’t forget to set your alarms, pack lunches, and get a good night's rest. We have 3 weeks till Christmas Break and the next 3 weeks will be rich with instruction. We also have a couple opportunities for you all to join us on campus with our Winter One’derland (Math Night Event) and Coach Stephens will be putting together another Family Fun Day in the gym. Hope to see you there!

Updates from the AP
Great things happening with you kids!
Attendance Matters
Regular Attendance Matters: Consistent school attendance is crucial for your child's education and success.
Timely Drop-off: Please ensure your child arrives at school on time each day.
Setting a Positive Example: Your commitment to regular attendance sets a positive example for your child.
9 week goal: less than 3 absences gives your child a ticket to the DJ dance party at the end of the 9 weeks. We will start selling pickles for $1.00 to help raise funds for the party.
Missed a call? If you miss a call from the campus, please check your voicemail to see who it is before calling the campus back. All calls go directly to our campus secretary and attendance clerk and they often are unaware of who called but, we ask all staff members to leave a message when they call so checking your voicemail is the best place to start.

Focus on Instruction and Assessment
Istation Testing: December 1st - December 7th
From December 1st to December 7th, our students will be participating in Istation testing. Istation is a valuable tool that helps us understand each child's unique strengths and areas for growth in reading. The insights gained from these assessments guide our efforts to provide targeted and effective support to ensure every student reaches their full potential. We kindly ask for your support in encouraging your child to take the testing seriously. Your words of encouragement and reminders about the importance of the assessments will go a long way in helping our students approach testing with confidence and focus.

Whether you share a story written in a book, a personal story, or set out to start a new story, I encourage you to share it this holiday season.
