South Carolina Aeronautical Training Center Field Trip
The SCATC is open to students K-12 for tours in a variety of formats.
They offer on campus tours for K-12 students. Their facility is located on the Thornley Campus of Trident Technical College. Tours include information on aeronautical, engineering, and advanced manufacturing programs.
Elementary school tours include an overview of programs with focus on connection to STEM and exploration of these careers. We also feature hands-on STEM activities.
Middle school tours showcase the technology our students work with and provide college-readiness information that students can use as they enter high school.
High school tours include in-depth presentation on each program, information on college classes, Dual Credit, transfer opportunities and more. High school students can also include a presentation from other Trident Technical College programs or departments while on campus.
In addition to on-campus tours, we also offer virtual tours via Google Meet or WebEx. This is a live presentation including Q&A and interactive chat with our team, so students can ask questions about SCATC programs. Virtual tours are in place for all grades with custom presentations for elementary, middle, and high school students.
You can reserve on-campus and virtual tours by completing the SCATC Tour Request Form. Tours are available Tuesday through Friday each week by appointment. On campus tours take approximately one hour to ninety minutes to complete; virtual tours range from twenty-five minutes to one hour.
Other Programs:
Lunch & Learn programs, career day events and more. To request a visit to your school, please send us an email directly.
