Reading/Language Arts

This week in Reader's Workshop, the students will be double checking their reading, trying vowel sounds two ways, and showing stamina with tricky words.

Our phonics sounds for the week are: g, j, dge, u, z, zz, _s

In writer's workshop, students will work on making their stories come to life. They can have their characters speak, think, and feel.

We will be working on understanding the meaning of the equal sign. Help us use the phrase, "is the same as" when referring to the equal sign. So you might say, 4+2 is the same as 6. ( 4+2=6)

We will continue "small moment" narrative writing.
