An important update from Dr. McTague
Good Afternoon Warrior Family,
I hope this message finds you and your family well. In order to better align with our feeder District 15 hybrid return timeline, the Board of Education approved moving our date to return to school under the Hybrid Model to Wednesday, November 4, after our fall break. This change will also allow for the opportunity to have a program for our freshmen on October 28 and 29 so they can familiarize themselves with their high school. This is a suggestion we heard from parents. The buildings will send specific program details.
If you have not had the opportunity, please review our MCHS Hybrid Learning Plan. You can also view the screencast below that will go into more detail about the Hybrid Learning Model and it will hopefully answer any questions you still may have about our plan and schedule. I also attached our Board Presentation of the MCHS Hybrid Learning Plan to this message as an additional resource.
If your student will not be returning to school for in-person instruction, please fill out the Digital Waiver Form located in the MCHS Hybrid Learning Plan. Digital Learning Waivers are due by Tuesday, October 13 so we can begin the process of balancing classes at both campuses. We will also use this digital/remote model for students who may become sick during the year or need to quarantine so instruction and the learning process will continue without interruption.
Both principals are in the process of preparing building-specific East & West Campus Return to School Plans that they will share with their campus communities. The plans will include information about schedules, lockers, self-certification, transportation, cleaning protocols, student expectations, operations, and basic logistics.
Thank you for your continued patience, flexibility, and support as we take the next steps to safely bring our students back to our buildings so they can reconnect with their teachers, our school community, and each other.
WE ARE WARRIORS AND WE ARE ONE!
