Weekend Forest School
For Kids Aged 8 to 11
Summer Term Sessions Start Soon
- Building dens and tipis
- Making a camp fire
- Cooking over the fire
- Creating things out of natural materials
Crafts may include:
- Making leafy crowns
- Carving a paintbrush out of wood
- Weaving
- Creating dream catchers
- Making string from willow bark and
- Designing a giant spider as a team.
Children also have the opportunity to discover plants and living creatures through games and free play. In addition, to rabbits, birds, frogs and mini-beasts, deer also visit the area.
Summer Term Sessions
The summer term sessions at 9:30 to 12:30 on Saturdays start on 8 June. They run for 6 Saturdays: 8 June, 15 June, 22 June, 29 June, 6 July and 13 July.
Owl's Forest School holds its sessions on a fenced area of Horsell Common, with permission from the Horsell Common Preservation Society.
The site is set back from the main public area and has access to a portable toilet. As numbers are limited, booking is essential.
Owl's Forest School offers a free trial session to new starters. One session costs £25 per child, or £120 per set of 6 consecutive sessions. Children who refer a sibling/friend who books a block of 6 sessions benefit from a 10% discount on their booking.
