Weekly Update
September 3-7
Holiday Weekend
We have made it to our first three day weekend! The school is closed Monday, September 3 for Labor Day. Please remind students and have a great weekend!
Elementary Notifications and Upcoming Events
*Please make sure you are in the gym promptly at 7:50 am on your days of morning gym duty. All other teachers will need to report to the gym by 8:00 am. Please see the bottom of this newsletter for the weekly gym duty schedule; I will also email it to you.
*Tickets should be used frequently to acknowledge positive behavior. We will be drawing for Fantastic Friday again this year, but please try to use tickets for other rewards in the classroom. Rewards do not have to cost money - they can be simple privileges (extra computer time, hat day, sit in teacher chair, etc). I have attached a list at the bottom of this newsletter of ideas.
*We are approaching our first BSLF (Big Steps, Little Feet) day! Our first project will be name dots; please come to the office for stickers. You will also need to bring construction paper (long sheets) and markers. You will need to go to your preschool classroom at 9:30 am.
*Drum roll please: the winners of our first door decorating contest are: room 207 (elementary building) and room 106 (preschool building). The students in each of those classrooms received popsicles and the teachers were treated to lunch. We will have our next contest this winter!
*Our first elementary teacher meeting is Wednesday, September 5 at 7:00 am. Please be prompt.
*Our first family night with be a math/literacy night with a global space theme. Each room will be set up as a station (all elementary classrooms will participate, including rooms 206 and 207). Please brainstorm at least 2-3 math or literacy ideas to have as a station in your room and bring them to our first meeting. We will decide then what room does what activity.
