Halloween Fun!
1. COSTUMES - Please do not wear costumes to school. The primary classes will have a costume parade in the afternoon (morning preschool will also have one as well) and students will change into their costumes at school. Please do not include any realistic weapons with the costumes. Intermediate classrooms do not dress up in costumes during the school day. Please save those costumes for after school activities like our Trunk or Treat from 6-8pm on Halloween. (please arrive at 5pm if you are hosting a trunk)
2. PARTIES - many classes are having class parties. Parents who have completed the background check through the District (under volunteers on the KPBSD website) are welcome to attend those parties in the classrooms. Please sign in at the front office before heading to the classroom. If you are bringing items for a party but are not staying for it, please feel free to bring them to the office and we will get them to the class. This helps prevent distraction during their learning time.
3. PUMPKINS - Our PTO is sponsoring the Pumpkin Carving Contest on Thursday. Pumpkins cannot be brought on the school bus, so parents will need to help with the transport. There will be a table in the lobby for the pumpkins. All pumpkins must be picked up after school on Thursday. We look forward to seeing all the creativity!
We are all looking forward to a fun (and educational) week!
A Note from Nurse Claudette:
It is that time of year, once again, when the weather begins to change and students return to school. It is also the time when Head Lice (or Pediculosis) begins to make its presence known! Do you know that anyone can get head lice? In fact, these parasites infest over 12 million Americans of all ages and socioeconomic status every year. And while head lice are annoying and upsetting, head lice are not life threatening. Here is some basic information:
