CHS Choir Update #15
A Weekly Update from the CHS Choral Department
Greetings CHS Choir, Family & Friends!
I hope this newsletter finds you well, having enjoyed some well-deserved time away from school and the chance to reconnect with family and friends.
Preparations for winter performances are well underway in each of our groups and with each rehearsal, the students are becoming increasingly confident in their abilities and refined in their performance. This year's "Sounds of the Season" concert will include special performances by the choirs from Brock and Stribling Elementary and feature guest artists from the CHS Band Department and the Fort Worth Symphony. We cannot wait to share our work with you.
Prior to this year's concert, the CHS Choir Booster Club will be hosting "Carols and Cuisine," a community dinner featuring solo and small group performances by members of the CHS Choral Department. More information about this event and how you can secure your tickets can be found below. Students should return any unsold tickets (or money for tickets sold) to Mr. Cooley by the end of the day tomorrow.
Dress rehearsal for this performance is next week on Tuesday, December 10th from 4:30-7:30 PM. Attendance at this rehearsal is required of all choir members as it is essential to our preparation for this performance with our guest artists. Uniforms are not required for this event, however, students do need to begin locating their uniforms and make sure everything is in order for their performance on December 12th.
As we enter into the final three weeks of the six weeks, it is increasingly important that students are submitting all of their assignments (both in choir and other academic classes) in a timely manner. Failure to submit assignments as requested limits teacher's ability to provide students with the support they need to succeed and could lead to a loss of credit. Please do everything in your power to submit assignments on time and attend tutorials as often as possible to end this semester on the best note possible.
Lots of great information and updates about special events are included in this week's update. Please be sure to review the information below to ensure that you are prepared for the week ahead. We look forward to seeing you at a performance in the near future.
Warm Regards,
Eric L. Cooley, Director
CHS Choral Department
