Turkey Trot Monday 11/20
On Monday, November 20th, Green Holly Elementary will be participating in its 19th annual Turkey Trot. The Turkey Trot is an event where the students and staff go out and walk and/or jog the perimeter of Green Holly’s property in an effort to encourage the importance of physical activity. This event will take place during your student’s regularly scheduled specials (art, music, P.E., media) time. PK will go out as a class at their convenience. In order to help us make this event a success please make sure that your student(s) comes to school Monday, November 20th, dressed in comfortable clothing and wearing tennis shoes/sneakers. It may be chilly. Make sure they dress in warm clothing, preferably in layers.
Thanks for your support,

Hi families and friends,
Our school is participating in a creative fundraiser with Art to Remember that allows you to purchase keepsake products customized with your child's art. There are over 60 products and many are less than $15. These make great gifts and a percentage of every purchase goes right back to our school. Click on the link below and enter the online order code shown on your child's order form or search for your child's artwork. Then, have fun shopping!

Pre-K Virtual Story Hour
We’re back!!! For the 14th year! The GHES SAIL team is again partnering with St. Mary’s County Toys for Tots to provide new toys to families in need here in St. Mary’s County, including students here at GHES.
There are two ways you can support the GHES Toys for Tots Drive-
Option 1- Let us do the work! Give your monetary donation to Ms. Davis, in the office, between Nov 10- Nov 29th, and she will give you a receipt for your tax-deductible donation. We’ll also have a jar in the main office where you can leave donations. The SAIL classes use these donations to do the toy shopping for you. In early December, as part of our Community Based Instruction, we will go toy shopping at Wal-Mart. We practice math and social skills while shopping. All toys are donated to Toys for Tots in December during our pick-up celebration. Our students LOVE, LOVE, LOVE doing this for you!
Option 2- Bring a new, unwrapped toy between November 28 and December 6 and place it in the donation box near the main office. Toys MUST be new and unwrapped.
All donations to Toys for Tots made in St. Mary’s County will be given to families in St. Mary’s County. We thank you for your support in making this such a rewarding experience over the last 14 years. If you have any questions, please see Mrs. Ash in rm 33. mlash@smcps.org

parent pick up and drop off
Please be aware that there are many safety issues at work during car rider drop off each morning and car rider pick up in the afternoon.
please stay in line the entire time you are dropping off and picking up, all the way up to exiting the parking lot onto Millstone Landing Road.
Do not pass other cars unless directed by staff members to do so.
Make sure to pull fully forward and follow the direction of staff members as the line moves.
please make sure your vehicle is in PARK when students are entering or exiting your vehicle - this is for their safety as well as the staff members assisting in the drop-off line.
In the afternoon please make sure you have your numbered car hanger.
If you forget it you will be asked to exit the line and go to the main office to sign out your children.
Our number one goal is to make sure everyone arrives and leaves school safely. Thank you for helping us achieve this goal!
