Executive Branch
The Executive Branch is the president and his cabinet. He is like the head of the government. He has many important jobs. He makes sure that the law is enforced. He lives in the White House with his family. There is something called the presidential succession. It makes sure that there is always a president. A term lasts for 4 years and they can only serve two terms. That means that if the president serves for both terms he would have made a total of $3,200,000.He is not the most powerful person In the government because having three branches of government. But he makes most of the important decisions that happen in our country and elsewhere. The president gets paid $400,000 a year. His cabinet includes, The vice president, the department of agriculture, the department of commerce, the department of defense, the department of education, the department of energy, the department of health and human services, the department of housing and human development, the department of interior, the department of justice, the department of labor, the department of state, the department of transportation, the department of treasury,and the department of veteran affairs. The vice president has many responsibilities to. He is the second in line in the presidential succession. He gets paid around $200,000 a year. He is second in command, he is the presiding head of the senate, and he is the ceremonial assistant to the president.
The Legislative Branch
The Legislative Branch is also called Congress. They are separated into two groups. The house of representatives and the senate.The house of representatives is made up of representatives that vary in number according to the populations of the state. In total there is 435 representatives in the house of representatives. They get paid $174,000 dollars a year. They vote for stuff like for electing the president, to cancel a law, to make a bill a law and other things like that. Their term lasts for 6 years. There is also senate. They get paid $174,000 a year. And their term lasts for six years.
The Judicial Branch
The Judicial Branch is supreme court and the Justices. Their term lasts from when they are elected by the president until death or until they resign. The only cases that get to supreme court are cases like Brown v. Board of Education (1954) School Segregation, Equal Protection and he won the won the case. And United States v. Nixon (1974)Watergate, Checks and Balances the united states won. They get paid over $200,000 a year. A case goes to supreme court if it is appealed by the state courts and the federal courts. The current justices are
Elena Kagan, Sonia M Sotomayor, Samual A Aloti Jr, John G Roberts Jr, Stephen G Breyer, Ruth Bader Ginsburg, Clarence Thomas, Anthony M Kennedy and Antonin Scali.
